{June 3, 2009}   Wandering Wounds

I have come across a touching debut poetry collection Wandering Wounds, written by the amazing poet James L. Finley, whose talent shines through in every verse.

The book is organized into sections, each having its own common theme. The areas covered in this book include illness and recovery, depression, abuse of all kinds, life’s frustrations, love, and more…

With every verse the reader is enveloped by extreme emotion and is transported into a world where the mind wanders and wonders thanks to the metaphor and/or allegory that is implemented throughout the book.

There are dark pieces, very sad pieces, pieces that make us laugh, pieces that envelop us in beauty, pieces that make us think, pieces that make us smile, and more… There is something for everyone to enjoy.

This book is a masterpiece that readers will find touching and quite enjoyable. Once readers dive into this book they will at least somewhat and in some way relate to the content, whether through direct personal experience or from something they witnessed happen to someone else.

It can be said without a doubt that we will be seeing more of this remarkable poet and will be enjoying his new work for years to come.

I am proud to own the treasure that is Wandering Wounds. If you have not picked up a copy do so today. It is a must-have book that people all over the globe will be buzzing about for a long time. So don’t pass up the chance to swim through the deep waters of his artistic craft and check out this must-have creation today.

{May 12, 2009}   Love Writing Books…

I love reading books but I also love writing them, publishing them, and making them available for all to indulge in. I have published three books (1 poetry book & 2-volume lyric book), and am currently working on a fourth and fifth books Diary of a Crush (book of verse), and Treasure (a poetic tale). To me this is just the beginning though. I plan on writing and publishing more books in the future and hopefully not just poetry ones.

{March 22, 2009}   Diary of a Crush

doac I am currently working on a new book of verse Diary of a Crush. It will contain poetry, songs, and fantasies (written in prose form) about crushes, love, relationships, heartbreak, and anything else related to guys.  Not all pieces will necessarily be of a completely personal nature but there will still be bits of my experiences in each one. You will surely relate to the content in the book. As this is a work-in-progress, the release date for this book is yet to be determined.

If you have stories of your own to tell about crushes feel free to share them… I’d love to read them.

I used to face a major dilemma in the past. Often times I got writing ideas or actual pieces were coming to me while I was on the go. Unfortunately I had nowhere to write them down so by the time I managed to find some pen and paper (which was usually a shopping receipt) those ideas would vanish and I’d be left with nothing. And trying to remember those ideas later on didn’t really help. I became really frustrated because I would get some really great ideas that I could have later developed into awesome pieces of writing but they would all disappear. I didn’t want to deal with this anymore so I went out and bought me a notebook that was small enough to fit into my handbag. I started carrying it with me (along with a pen) wherever I went. Whenever writing ideas came to me I’d no longer end up losing it because I had a place to write them all down. And I didn’t have to deal with writing on the back of receipts anymore either. It was a big convenience for me and made things much easier as everything was stored in one place and I didn’t have all these receipts and small papers lying around. I am sure glad I finally realized to do something like this and because of this I was able to write many great works.

{January 30, 2009}   Bonded For Life!!!!!!!!

When two people have this special bond between each other, they are bonded for life and there is nothing that can tear them apart, not even the long distance or a possible period of rare communication.  No matter what happens the two people never forget about each other and never drift apart, and constant thoughts of the other enter their mind…

Here’s a short poem about this special bond:

This special bond
That exists between you and I
Will never die out
Will never break
For you mean too much to me
To ever let you go
You live deep inside me
And you always will
For there can be no other way
I do not see myself
Living here without you
Where there is me there is you
And that’s how it will always be
No matter what happens

{January 16, 2009}   Moving On From A Relationship…

Let’s say you meet this guy who lives far away from you.  You get to talking with him, hit it off right away, and end up falling in love with each other.  And the pictures you exchange only help make things even better.   Everything is going great between the two of you and each day you find yourself smiling, extremely happy, and your face and eyes are glowing.  You are in love, in love with an amazing person who feels the same way about you.

Then one day all of sudden the person stops contact with you.  Doesn’t email or instant message.  Doesn’t call (if that was ever your mode of contact).  Doesn’t reply to the emails or mailed letters you send him.  Just disappears without a word.  Days and weeks go by and still not a word from him.  You terribly miss the guy, and are sinking deep in sorrow and tears at the fact that he is not around anymore, at the thought that you’ve been rejected (perhaps yet again if it has happened to you before with someone else).  What do you do?  How do you cope?   How can you move on?

Before anything, you have to say to yourself that you want to move on, otherwise it will not work in your favor.  You also have to accept the big possibility, that most likely he is never coming back into your life, that it’s over between you.   You can’t wait around forever for him to come back into your life.  You have your own life to live.  If a long time has passed and he still hasn’t contacted you then it is really over.  Don’t wait for the possibility of his return and move on.  If you keep waiting for him to come back, you will find yourself in constant sorrow, and you might even take it out on others around you.  And you won’t even want to try to have another relationship.  So, why torture yourself like that?  It isn’t worth it…  Perhaps the disappearance of this guy means he wasn’t the one, and that there is someone out there waiting for you.  You will find him given the right time, the right moment, and the right circumstances…

{January 2, 2009}   Spreading The Word

You slave hours and hours working on something that you want to be in the hands of people all over the globe.  You are very proud of your end product and can’t wait to see how people will react to it, whether people will end up buying your creation or not.  But nothing is going to happen if you just let it sit there.  You have to spread the word.  The more ways you come up with to let people know of your creation the better it is for you.  You might have to do some Internet or book research in the process, and you will surely have enough work to do to spread the word, but in the end it will all be worth it.  There are paid ways to do it, and there are free ways to do it.  What you decide is up to you and how much money you want to spend.  Before starting with anything, first sit down and figure out what you want to do and how you want to do it.  Once you have that all in order, once you have your plan, put it into action, and given time you will see great results…

{December 26, 2008}   Long Distance Relationships…

I wonder can long distance relationships work?  Can they really last between two people?  I am sure if you ask people they will give you different answers.  In my opinion long distance relationships can work and last if both people want it to.  If two people truly love each other, care about each other, and are right for each other in every way, then there is no reason why the relationship has to fail.  Yeah there is that issue of not being able to spend a lot of time together in person if hardly any, but that can all be worked out.  There is a solution for everything.  It might be emotionally downing to know you can’t be with the other person face to face, to spend time with them, to cuddle them, to kiss them, etc. on a regular basis, but just thinking about doing all these things should bring you happiness.  As long as both of you want to be together and as long as you really love each other, nothing and no one can stand in your way.  No distance – no matter how long it is – will matter…

{December 23, 2008}   My Christmas Eve Birthday….

My birthday is coming up tomorrow and it’s awesome that it’s on the same day as Christmas Eve, even though it is not my holiday.  Since tomorrow I don’t work, I am planning a day of movies, shopping, and dinner…  I can’t wait.  Then on the 25th I’ve got people coming over for my birthday dinner.  I am excited about that and can’t wait to see what presents I am going to get.  I am really looking forward to all the surprises and wishes and presents and more…  I just hope that my plans won’t be ruined tomorrow and leave me slaving away at the kitchen cooking for Thursday’s party.
